Who am I?
My name is Zac, 29 years old and I am an abstract artist living in Vienna, Austria. The usual, commonly known path to a solution has rarely been the right one for me. This is reflected in my artwork. I combine special materials, media and techniques to create unique art.
Ever since I can remember, I have been drawing and painting with passion. With art I escape the hectic, gray everyday life and can give free rein to my creativity. Early on it was clear to me that I wanted to make a living from art, even if the exact path to get there was still unclear.
Life can only be planned to a certain extent and uncertainty is our constant companion. When working with fluid media, one becomes aware of this again and again. In the end, you gather new knowledge with every decision. You see the results of your decisions only in retrospect and can use them to adjust your future paths.
I want to convey the beauty of life but also the uncertainty. My artworks have many details, which the viewer can only gradually recognize. Thus, they should also ensure that they are still exciting for many years and new details are found. They also do not follow any current trend and are therefore timeless. The artworks are also to call a daily reminder of how special, exciting and variable life can be.
I engaged in different directions of art during my studies and became fascinated by fluid media. In 2015, I began to work more intensively with acrylic and oil paints and created my first canvas paintings.
In 2017 I wanted to break away from common materials and techniques and experimented for the first time with alcohol ink, synthetic resin, gold foil and water-based casting resin (Jesmonite). After about three experimental, very intensive years, I would now like to publicly present and offer my works.
